What is liveplanner?

A free planner with no trackers: boards of cards, spreadsheets, forms and dashboards in one plan, worked on together in real time, right in the browser.

liveplanner is a web app for planning work together, live. You make a plan, and fill its tabs with boards of cards, spreadsheets, forms and dashboards. Share one link and everyone on it sees the same plan change as it happens: a card moved to Done, a cell filled in, a new answer to a form.

One plan, four kinds of tab

A plan holds tabs, and each tab is one of four things:

  • Boards: columns of cards you drag from status to status, for a Kanban board, a sprint, a bug triage, a retro or a roadmap.
  • Sheets: spreadsheets with formulas, formatting and charts, for budgets, timesheets, contact lists and anything else that suits a grid.
  • Forms: questions you send out, whose answers arrive as cards, ready to sort.
  • Dashboards: metrics, charts, Gantt charts and calendars drawn from the plan's cards, side by side with its boards and sheets.
A Kanban board: columns of cards, dragged from status to status by everyone on the plan.

Every card is an item stored with the plan, so the same card can sit on a sprint board and a roadmap, and every dashboard counts it wherever it is. Card types decide what a card holds (a task, a bug, a candidate), with fields of your own. Each new tab opens on Start Planning, a picker of ready-made boards, sheets, forms and dashboards, plus whole ways of working set up across several tabs, so you rarely start from a blank page. See Planning Basics.

Built for working together

  • Real time: everyone on a plan sees changes as they happen, and a card someone is dragging or has open shows their name. See Live Presence.
  • Share with a link: an Editor, Participant or Viewer link, with a password or an expiry date if you want one. The person you share with needs no account. See Sharing Your Plan.
  • Comments on cards and on sheet cells, so the conversation stays beside the work. See Comments.
  • Teams for a shared space with the people you work with. See Teams.

No sign-up to start

liveplanner always works without signing in. Open a new plan, plan something real, and hand the link to a colleague who joins straight away. An account is there when you want your plans on every device; see Guest vs Account.

Free, with no trackers

liveplanner is free for everyone. There is no paid tier, no trial and no plan to introduce one: every feature is available to every user. There are no ads and no third-party trackers; the only analytics are anonymous, first-party counts that never include your content, and you can turn them off. See What We Collect and Why Use liveplanner?.

The quickest way to understand liveplanner is to use it. Open a new plan, pick Kanban and add a card, no sign-up needed. Your First Plan walks you through it.
