A computer (Windows, Mac or Linux) with a mouse or trackpad and a keyboard gives you the complete liveplanner experience. liveplanner runs in your browser, with nothing to install. Everything in the help centre works here, so this is the best place for detailed planning and for setting up boards, sheets and dashboards.
The full layout
On a computer the whole editor is on screen at once: the plan's name and Share along the top, the board, sheet, form or dashboard in the middle, the bottom-right controls (Undo and Redo, then Trash, New, Find and Types, and Style), and the tab bar along the bottom with Search and Settings at its right end.
Columns show side by side, cards show at the size the board is set to, and a dashboard lays its slots out in rows. UI Scale in Settings makes the panels and buttons bigger or smaller, and on a Sheet tab the zoom controls make the cells bigger or smaller.
Mouse and keyboard
A mouse and keyboard unlock the fastest ways to work:
- Drag cards between columns, drag the edges of a sheet's columns and rows to resize them, and drag across cells to select a range.
- Keyboard shortcuts for undo and redo, search, Zen mode, moving cards and working in a sheet. See Keyboard Essentials and the full Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Scroll with the mouse wheel or two fingers on a trackpad to move through a long column, a big sheet or a dashboard.
Right-click and hover
Right-click a card, a cell, a sheet's row or column header, or a board's empty space to open its menu, and use a tab's ⋯ for the tab's own. Rest the pointer on a button for half a second and a tooltip names it; some controls explain themselves at once with a hover card. Keyboard focus shows either straight away, and Escape hides it.
Setting up a plan, building a dashboard or running a session for a room? A computer is the most comfortable place to do it, with the most screen space and the quickest controls.
